6:44 a.m. - Well, I thought today was going to start with a quiet, simple morning. It did until about 30 minutes ago when Amber got a message that Kourtney is sick and Pat is golfing and would Amber go get the kids. So I have about 30 minutes of quietness before grandchildren arrive. It will be great to see them, but I hope they don't bring their remnants of sickness here and get me sick. So far I've been able to dodge the flu bug that seems to be running rampant around the are. I'd like to continue that streak.
Yesterday went fine. Karrigan and Michael invited Amber and me to join them at the Farmer's Market, so we went. There weren't many vendors there, but we did make a couple of purchases. Amber bought some candles, and I purchased some coffee, mozbites, and something new. I learned a little about kombucha, which apparently is fermented tea that is supposed to be good for gut health. So I learned some thing new, and I spent some money on that to see how it might be healthy for me. After that, I went home and watched some of the championship games for the IHSA girls basketball tournament. I watched an official I had worked with earlier in the year, and he had a real good game to work. The game came down to a winning shot with just 1.3 seconds left. I hope I can make it there someday. I also got in some exercises and a good soaking in the hot tub. I even listened to some episodes of the Fledge Fitness to try to get back n the habit of intermittent fasting again.
After that, I watch some more basketball - more tournament and some college basketball. After that, we went and had supper with Greg and his crew over in Bettendorf. I had prime rib, and Amber had chicken strips. We didn't stay out too late; I think we were back home by 8:30 p.m. Not long after that we turned in for the night.
Today is supposed to be quite warm but really windy. I had thought about getting the grill out, but with all the wind and this still being early March, I think I'll wait. I would be nice to go get in a long hike at Loud Thunder, but I don't know how long we will have the Southwells. I think Amber is going to work on putting up Easter decorations. I'm going to try to get some exercise in again today.
