7:20 a.m. - The things for school list being empty below is a nice site. The weather isn't such a great site with cold temps today and possible snow tonight, but at least it's time for a little break. Amber is already up and gone - she and her friend Deanna are headed for a day trip to Chicago. Apparently it's fun to spend the morning riding a train to Chicago and then walking around and then riding a train back. That's not my kind of fun, so it's good that she gets to go and do her thing, and I'll stay here and do my thing. And my thing is going to be running some errands this morning and then watching some basketball - watching a lot of basketball. The Illini don't play until later today, so that's even better. One of my errands is running into Walgreen's and picking up the colonoscopy prep supplies. That's not necessarily going to be the highlight of my day. On the other hand, it needs to get done, so no sense in stressing too much over it. Clean out the pipes with some gatorade and laxative and then let the doctor check out the pipes and remove any polyps that may have surfaced since the last procedure three years ago. It's hell to get old.
Yesterday went fine. The day itself featured a lot of student absences, and I had something for a lesson that was doable but didn't cause me any extra work. I also finished up all the scoring of assignments that needed to take place. The best news of the day was that my softball double-header at Knoxville today was canceled. I wasn't looking forward to that at all in these cold temperatures, and I'd rather stay home and watch basketball. And then last night, that's what I did. There were a couple more upsets, so that's always fun to watch.
