6:21 a.m. - According to my activity app connected to my phone, my exercises yesterday was almost nine miles of hiking at Loud Thunder. I stopped the watch at 3:02:33. I hadn't planned on that much exercise, but it just sort of happened. I was going to just go from the park office to the horse corral and back, and then I met someone else who was running, and he said he was going for three hours, so I decided to go a little farther, and then that turned into just completing the big loop of the south trail, and three hours later I had completed the loop and was back to the truck. I right foot, admittedly, was hurting, but this morning I'm just mildly sore. I'll probably be a little more sore tomorrow before starting to feel a bit better. After returning home I watched some basketball, including an Illinois Big Ten Tournament Championship. They are shooting fewer 3-point shots and taking the ball to the basket more. Then I got my clothes back in my car for umpiring and put away other clothes in the house, and then it was off to visit my mom and dad at their farm. I didn't get a chance to visit with them last weekend due to Amber having the flu and me not wanting to potentially be a spreader. It was nice and sit to visit with them. Apparently mom has helped organize a little exercise group at the Taylor Ridge church on Monday mornings, and that's going real well. Dad's doing okay, but he didn't really have much information to share. We didn't talk politics during our visit, which is rare. Usually we have to do some Trump bashing of some sort. I did find out that my brother is coming home this weekend, so it will nice to see him.
Today and the rest of the week is are going to feature cold temperatures. This is not exactly softball weather, which makes total sense and just my luck. Two weeks ago, the temps were in the 60's, and now it feels like winter all over again. I can't see that we will have softball today, but I guess we'll find out. Trooper Wilson is visiting the classroom today to discuss postsecondary training at the academy. He usually does a good job. I need to score some assignments that I didn't manage to get to during the weekend. This is the last full week of classes before Spring Break next week. I'd like to go into Spring Break without any papers to grade. Plus, I'd like Mother Nature to get some warmer temps here, so I can break out the camper.
