8:04 a.m. - Well yesterday featured Amber getting the flu. She went to Kourtney's house in the morning to tend to the dogs, and she returned and said she wasn't feeling well. About an hour later or so, she was hit hard. Yesterday was rough for her, and now every time my stomach gurgles even just a little, I'm waiting for the worst. This morning she feels better, and her color is better. Hopefully today she can get some rest and be over most of it.
Meanwhile, in between and amongst trying to be around for her, I had a pretty productive day. Sophie and I went on a walk, and then I traveled in town to take care of some errands. I needed to get to Farm-N-Fleet to get a batter for the mower. I don't think I will be mowing today, but that grass is going to shoot up soon, so I needed to get that battery. I also stopped at Lowe's to get some dirt. I needed to try to level up part of my yard that I use to get the camper by the house. Also during the day, I stopped at the camper and picked up some materials. Amber wants me to cook up some pork chops on the Blackstone, so I picked up those materials, and I also pulled out the camper battery to get it all charged up and ready to go. Once I got home, I worked on dewinterizing the garage. I got the grill out and placed on the deck, and I did a little rearranging of the winter supplies to "storage". That includes getting my bike down and moving some things around. And then I watched basketball in the evening - some of the high school basketball championships and some college basketball. At the end of the evening it was Sophie and I in the blue room with Amber in our room.
Today, I've promised Sophie another walk. I think I'm going to go out to Loud Thunder with her and go for a hike out there. And then for lunch I think I'll grill those pork chops or cook the them on the Blackstone...not sure which yet. I'll head over to the farm at some point and get some hay down, and I'd like to watch the Iowa women at 11:00 a.m. play in the Big Ten Tournament Championship. Plus, the Illinois plays Iowa (men) at 6 p.m., and I want to see that too. Maybe I can get that battery installed in the mower as well. Today, I guess, should be okay if everything works out.
