5:52 a.m. - My checkbook is balanced! It doesn't have enough money in it, but at least I know where it has all gone. Yesterday the school day went well; now I'm pretty much finished with all the beginning of the year stuff. I just need to keep on working on scoring essays. Today is FRW, and I could use a little reading to ease my brain. My first high school volleyball match is tonight at Galva. I'm not really sure what to expect, but I guess I'll figure it out when I get there. This morning I think I will go for a little walk before school. I'm not sure where my headlamp is, but maybe I won't need it. I heard from Cole last night after the junior high volleyball game I worked at Glenview. His spirits seem to be a little better from the last time I talked with him - sounds like he's making more connections to people and having less down time. I'm not sure his acting career is going any farther, but my guess is that will take him a little longer than he anticipated. Carmen reported that she had her first fight in her classroom yesterday - two girls complete with pulled hair and blood...sound like it was a doozie, but it also sounded like she remained calm, got some help, and reacted fine. Let's tackle this Wednesday!
