5:25 a.m. - Today is going to be a wacky day. First off, there is activity day this morning, and rather than parking lot duty, I have kickball. Here's what I've come to discover in my old age. When it comes to teenagers, they have a knack of ruining things that should be genuinely fun, and then they think it's funny when they do. Maybe I will be wrong on this one. Maybe all the festivities today will be fun and enjoyable - let's hope so. At the end of activity day today, there is a pep assembly. School spirit now is not what it once was, but once again maybe I will be proven wrong. There is an outside chance that I will get a pie in my face today, adding to the potential wackiness. After a lengthy morning, then, we will have "professional development". What I really need professionally today is to just score assignments, but that may have to wait. After the "school day", I'm headed to Seton for the first time to officiate some junior high volleyball. Then at the end of the day, I'm hoping to get the camper all hooked up and ready to roll for the weekend in Galena.
Speaking of the camper, I spent a little time on it last night. First, I took the truck in to get an oil change and check the tire pressures. Then after a couple of other errand stops it was back home to work on that ceiling vent that given me some problems. In the end, I discovered a simple way to change the part I needed to change. Now if I have to do the same thing on the front vent, I'll have a much easier time doing it. Also, the vent insulators arrived, so I was able to install them as well, and I'm interested to see how those impact the heating and cooling of the trailer. Finally, I figured out a way to put back the little trim piece that broke off recently - another learning lesson. I probably didn't have to put it back, because probably no one would notice. Better yet, I could have tried to get a replacement piece, but for now anyway, this will do.
