5:50 a.m. - I had trouble sleeping again last night. I'm thinking about campers again...my camper leaving and trying to get the new camper here and hoping it fits in our parking space and tires don't blow and the new stuff I have to learn. Ya, I keep myself awake thinking about those things. At school, beginning of the year "stuff" is getting closer to winding down. Today is our first Free Read Wednesday, and Friday I hope to have our first journal write. I still also need to get pre-assessments in reading and essay writing completed. This weekend I'll probably be looking over student profiles and entering grades. Today is our first learning lab day; we haven't done that since March of 2019...perhaps another sign of life trying to return to normal despite the rise in COVID cases. Last night I had volleyball at John Deere Junior High. There was a time I would have been totally inexperienced and nervous; now I'm thinking junior high volleyball might be my thing - when I have to eventually give up basketball, volleyball and softball could still keep me pretty busy.
7:39 a.m. - The JayFlight has landed in its new home. It departed successfully from here and is now near the Mississippi River in Henderson County. I'd be lying if I said it was easy to watch someone else pull away with our first camper.
