6:12 a.m. - It's a snow day - again! We still have only gone 2-days in a row to school second semester. And tomorrow and Wednesday have some problems in the forecast too...sheesh! This snow day, though, doesn't involve snow, which is nice because that means I don't have to shovel snow! It's more like an "ice day"! Yes, I will have to use some ice melt on the driveway, but in that case I just need to make sure I don't fall on my ass while spreading the ice melt. While that's not always easy, it's easier that shoveling a bunch of snow.
And the thing about today is that I really got a lot of stuff done yesterday. I might just be relaxing and reading my book today. I still might have basketball games to officiate, so that's still on the schedule. Sometimes on "snow days" like this, Amber and I will go to the casino if/when the roads became safe. I'll also get in a little time in the hot tub along with my morning stretching routine.
Last night was low key after getting home from my parents' farm. I had a nice visit with them and had some of mom's meat loaf. I did get some hay down for them, and then they needed me to do some snow shoveling for them - had to get a path to the machine shed and the power pole in case the predicted ice caused power outages. They have a generator in the machine shed, so their process is to turn off the power at the pole and then fire up the generator. My mom told me, though, that she has made the executive decision to buy one of those home generators that fire up automatically. She said that's going to be a summer project.
So after getting back, Amber made some yummy potato soup, and I worked on icing my aching foot and sat around and watched football. Those dang Chiefs got the Bills again, and the Lions won another playoff game. The matches for the NFL Conference Championship games are interesting - the Lions at the 49ers and the Chiefs at the Ravens.
