7:21 a.m. - Whew, it's been a busy morning. Out in the truck to check the roads, shoveling the driveway to clear the new snow, and getting up and going with Tucker and Rosie here. That's a lot to accomplish by this time of the morning. There is no snow day today. All the action last night with the 2-4 inches of snow we received tapered off early enough to allow the plow crews to get out on the roads. And the winds are up with a wind chill advisory, but we aren't in the wind chill warning category. There will be a lot of grumbling students, and perhaps there will be some absences that are weather-related, but we are finally going to have two days in a row for attendance.
Yesterday was a bit of struggle with students groggy again, but we got through it. We got started on a new segment of Khan Academy S.A.T. practice, and today we've will pick up on the first literature passage that I introduce last week. I'll throw a little practice vocab quiz at them to in order to wake them up a bit, but it's just practice, so they can give it a whirl.
We are supposed to officiate at Monmouth United tonight, but they cancelled school, so I don't know what our status will be. It's getting a little late to make up too many more games, so if they are smart, they will go ahead and play the game, but some schools have policies of no school/no activities.
Last night's games were hectic. Two teams that haven't had a lot of recent practice that missed a lot of shots and committed a lot of turnovers. Of course because the game was ugly, the officiating was to blame. Admittedly, Tony and I had a third partner that we don't work with much. Trying to find some consistency among the three of us was a bit of a challenge.
Well, I need to wrap this up and get over to school.
