6:01 a.m. - Today is going to be a long, long day. The weather forecast appears to be showing that we are going to be able to play softball in Port Byron today. We have two games to get through - 4:30 and 6:30. I'd be willing to place a nice healthy wager that the second game will never start by 6:30 p.m. The first game is Sherrard vs. Kewanee; the second game is Knoxville vs. Riverdale. Both games will probably go the whole seven innings, and I have third base for the first game and first base for the second game. My excitement and enthusiasm is not very high.
Yesterday was okay...we had a little journal write activity and discussed some analysis questions to the novel and then continued reading. The day was pretty laid back, especially with the seniors not in attendance. I did have one little student flare up second period, so I sent him out. I'm too old and grumpy to have much patience for situations like that.
One thing I didn't get done yesterday was a haircut. Amber's heart rate was too high yesterday, and she was concerned, so she went to the ER. I think she went in around lunch time. I drove in after school, and she still hadn't been seen by a doctor - so much for speedy care. She ended up leaving and now has an appointment today with her cardiologist. Just sitting in that waiting room was pretty pathetic. It was horribly awkward watching the several people that had also been there a very long time. Amber had said there was even some sort of police involvement incident earlier in the day. She did sleep okay for most of the night, but she says that her blood pressure is still high this morning.
