Wednesday, May 8

5:58 a.m. - Oh, Mr. Former President Donald Trump didn't have a very good day yesterday as he was forced to sit in a New York City courtroom and watch and listen to a porn star describe their sexual encounter they once shared when then third wife was at home with his newborn son.  That's just not the kind of stuff that makes for a very good day.  I keep finding myself asking, "Is anyone really surprised?"  When Mr. Trump was elected president of the United States of American, couldn't it be a reasonable conclusion that somehow and someway he would eventually end up in a courtroom with his world in full view of the world.  Geez.  And he is the leading candidate and presumed candidate for the Republican Party to compete for the presidency again against incumbent President Joe Biden.  It's almost like the more sleeze, lies, fraud, and ugliness Trump's base learns about him, the more they support him.  Good grief.

Yesterday the school day went well.  We finally dug into the course novels, and the vast majority of students either weren't as inspired as I hope or thought they were being overly worked.  Good grief.

I did do my duty and appeared at the awards banquet, which was a little depressing.  Don't get me wrong, it's great that we have an academic awards banquet.  Now, it would be good if each day of the school year even half of that recognition energy was actually put into academic work.  Good grief.

Today....it's Free Read Wednesday; tomorrow there is an 11:30 dismissal.  Today I'm at Annawan umpiring; tomorrow I'm at Annawan umpiring.  Moral of the story....let's just get to Friday!
