5:58 a.m. - Yesterday was a mixed bag of good and bad. The half day of school went okay; and the "in-service" went fine. We got one game in at Annawan in the rain, and then the coaches decided not to play the second one. It's yuck to get wet and umpire, but it's nice to get a check for two games and only work one. Then unfortunately, I found out that I was skipped over for a 1A/2A softball sectional and instead was assigned a 3A/4A regional. I'm not really surprised by this. That's what typically has happened to me, but when I found out other people that were awarded a sectional, my frustration boiled a bit. Now I need to make a decision on whether or not to accept the regional assignment. I know I don't want to; the question is whether or not I should accept the assignment.
Today should be interesting. It's Friday, it's going to be nice weather, and it's the last day for the seniors. So it will be a mixed bag of skipping school from the juniors and silliness from the seniors. Plus, I'm awaiting a message from the director of softball from the IHSA. Plus, I'm trying to decide if I'm going to take the camper out somewhere.
