Wednesday, September 13

5:46 a.m. - Yesterday was a long day.  I didn't get home until about 10:00 p.m.  The school day was long - I was trying to help keep the students informed about what I'm learning about the PSAT.  They appeared to look like I was killing them.  Then they worked on their assignments from Monday, which was also a struggle.  And the BHC instructor was there, so I didn't have my room during third period.  And then we had a long match at Riverdale last night.  It wasn't a bad day, it was just a long day.

Ms. Peterson was my partner last night for volleyball, and it was her first officiating night ever in any sport.  She was understandably nervous, but she did great.  The sophomore match went to a deciding set, and the varsity match was a nail-biter - 29-27 in the deciding third set.  Not many nights go like that, so she got a good taste of volleyball officiating.  It was hard for me because I took one set in each of the freshmen and sophomore matches on the stand as R1.  And then I had all three sets as R1 in the varsity match.  That's a lot of R1 for the night.  

Today is Free Read Wednesday.  I need a Wednesday today.  It's also learning lab day, so I get visited by three wonderful students that haven't yet figured out that they will fail the course if they don't get their acts together.  Later today I'm hoping to attend a TRS meeting in at Moline.  I need to go and continue to learn more about the retirement process.
