5:34 a.m. - Yesterday went okay at school, and the TRS meeting I went to yesterday at Moline High School was comforting. Most comforting was the realization that health insurance won't be as crazy as I thought it was going to be when I retire prior to becoming eligible for Medicare. It's becoming clearer to me that I need to do everything I can to attempt to avoid early retirement - prior to age 60. It was also interesting to me that the age used when attempting to figure out costs and payments of TRS is 86. Ummmm.....86 is not far away! Ugh. It makes 60 as a final retirement year sort of becoming important. Statistically, I'd have about 26 years of retirement. Last night after all that retirement thinking, I did get in a walk and some time in the hot tub.
Today could be a mess. I'm going to try a lesson I've never done using technology I've never tried. It could be a real winner; it could be a real flop. The new digital SAT is on a delivery platform that includes a resource called Big Future. This is a career and postsecondary research tool, and I want to get students some exposure to it while it's somewhat fresh in our minds. Apparently it's somewhat like Xello, which the students used in their freshmen year. So I've got a little research assignment that I hope they appreciate.
Later today...it's off to Prophetstown. The Panthers play Riverdale, who I just had Tuesday. There will be a big crowd, but I do get to ride with Braeden today, so that will be fun.
