6:21 a.m. - Yesterday I had x-rays on my knee, and the x-rays revealed what I already knew in my head but really didn't want to see and confirm. My arthritis has basically created a "bone-on-bone" situation in the inside of my right knee. I was told that I could order complete knee replacement and decide on the surgery date, but I was also told I would need to give up officiating basketball. I'm just not ready to do that. My very next stop was to a new chiropractor in the area, so I decided to see if he could help with a goal of trying to go another five years of officiating and then go with the surgery. The problem is what it is, and if I can strengthen the muscles around and deal with the pain, then my stubbornness and pride can perhaps help me through. That's the plan for now. The plan for today is to drive to Wisconsin to view a 5th wheel for sale. Actually, I think I'm going to be disappointed with what I see, but along the way, I'll make some stops at RV stores and/or check out some campgrounds and just make it an adventure day.
Did I mention the Delta Variant of COVID 19 has now caused Illinois's governor to make a mask mandate for schools for the upcoming school year? Ugh. And now of course, the "loud folks" who likely didn't get the vaccine who have basically contributed to the problem are going to become enraged at having to wear masks. Sometimes I just want to shake my brain in disbelief. There was a way out through a comprehensive vaccine effort, and too many people choose to avoid it. Now the variant has caused a rise in cases, especially in younger people that are unvaccinated. Here we go again.
I tried to balance my checkbook yesterday, and I'm $36.00 off. I just looked at it again...I think I may have figured it out.
