6:06 a.m. - Well it was the last day of summer, but yesterday I finally pulled off a good day combination of exercise and portion control eating - better late than never I guess. I want to keep that going through the weekend and see where it gets me. Today, it's off to school, and it's going to be a hot one. I almost wish I had a thermometer in my room because 7th period with my room jam packed with 27 students in the heat of the day is going to be a doozy. I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but I have first period free this year, and I'm not sure that I'm going to like that. Normally, I would use my prep period to get ready for the next day, but that was after I had a handle on what the current day was like. I guess like anything else I will figure out a system. I am going to wear my Rockridge Bowling shirt today, so I'll try to stay as cool as possible at least as I meet the new group of students. Why Rockridge Bowling...because someone was giving them away at school, and I thought it would be a good conversation piece for the first day of school because to my knowledge, there is no bowling team at Rockridge. A big thing I got accomplished yesterday was getting my volleyball exams completed for Iowa and Illinois, so I think I'm already for any volleyball stuff I need to accomplish except I would like to order new blue and gray shirts.
