Saturday, February 3

7:18 a.m. - Yesterday was a bit frustrating, but I guess it is what it is.  The competitive cheer team participated in the state finals prelims, and I had about half of my students absent.  We completed a quiz, and started on an assignment.  90% of the students gone will think they had a "free day".  Among those, most of them will "cry wolf" when they see zeros entered for a grade on the quiz.  They can make up the quiz for full credit if completed in a timely manner, but I still enter zeros.  Then last night, we had Sherrard at Erie-Prophetstown, and it was a struggle.  Both teams play hard, the coaches coach hard, and it's just a challenging night.  And that's okay, but it's just hard.

Today...another hard day.  This morning we go to Orion girls...they are not very good.  They are playing Bureau Valley...also not very good.  Then we go to Aledo tonight for the LTC Tournament - the 3rd-4th place game between Annawan and Wethersfield, who have already played each other twice.  That will be a struggle as well.  In short, it's going to be a rough day.  I think I'll go early and pick up my coat at the cleaners and perhaps get a haircut.  It would be nice if my Saturday was going to be simple and easy, but that's just not the case.  No worries....camping season is getting closer and closer!
