Monday, February 5

5:41 a.m. - I almost got everything done on my to-do list yesterday.  In the morning I skipped church service to get things done around the house, including emptying the inflatable hot tub in the basement.  I didn't think it needed to be done, but Amber did, so I did it.  I emptied it, she cleaned it, and then I filled it again.  I was hoping it would be ready this morning, but no such luck - 91-degrees isn't good enough.  The Harrisons came over for a visit and to get assistance from Amber for Darrin's passport.  They were gifted a trip to Cancun later this month, and Darrin needs a passport because he's never had one.  After they left, and we had lunch, I got some more things done.  Because Kenzie clipped my hair when she was here I didn't have to go to Great Clips, but I did make it to HyVee to get a few needed things, and I got the HHR filled up with gas for the week.  I tried to give the car a wash to get the top layer of muck and salt off.  Then I came home to switch vehicles and head to the farm, but unfortunately mom wasn't home.  I got down some hay for her for the week at least.  So I didn't get to visit with Mom and Dad, and then the other thing I didn't get done was to finish my book, even though I did read a little more from it.  Back at home, I just watched some basketball.  All-in-all, it was a productive Sunday.

One thing that didn't happen today was to receive postseason girls basketball assignments from the IHSA.  I really thought those would roll out over the weekend, but maybe it won't happen until today or tomorrow or whenever...I'm pretty sure I'll go 3A/4A anyway....likely Moline, Geneseo, or Galesburg.  And then I'll get some sectional game who knows where the following week and get a 1A regional somewhere for the boys, and that will be it for me.

Today, it looks like we are going to have another full work week.  The weather is unusually warm for February, but my guess is we'll get a little cold snap and some snow before the end of the month.  That's usually how the fickle month of February works.  And at school today, it will be "catch-up day" from all the students that were gone on Friday.
