5:33 a.m. - Yesterday was great. In the morning, we decided to go to Rhythm City early and play some slots, and then we went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch. I can' t believe how busy that place was even at 11:15 in the morning. Then we came home and Amber ran some errands, and I worked on trying to get my foot feeling a little better with some ice and heat. I also went to the farm and helped mom out by getting some hay down and some grain out for her. Then came the Super Bowl viewing party - nice and quiet and simple in the comfort of my own home with just me and Amber. And what a game it was. I had a feeling when the 49ers dominated the first half but only led 10-3 that dang Patrick Mahomes was going to do his magic, and he did. The score was tied at the end of regulation, and then the 49ers could only manage a field goal on their first possession. Sure enough, Mahomes marched the Chiefs down the field and passed for a touchdown to secure the win. The game had all the dramatics and intensity that a Super Bowl game should have. The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat was on display.
Maybe the good days will keep rolling. I have a long day today. I think the school day should go well, but I'm counting on the students to use their time productively. That's where my plan may bog down a little. Then I'm headed for my long night of the week - two games at the Geneseo girls regional. The first game should be a blowout; I'm not sure about the second game. I'm working with Braeden and Brian Rewerts, so that will be fun.
