6:14 a.m. - I don't get really frustrated very often, but last night while officiating a sophomore girls game at Muscatine, it happened. The game wasn't pretty. The Assumption coach decided he wanted to attempt to evaluate our officiating skills while he was up over 10 points in the final minute of the game after I called a foul for his team and put his girl on the free throw line. He wanted to talk to me about how inconsistent the officiating had been because I would call that foul but at other times his girls would be on the floor after being "run over" by the other team. I don't get many of those situations...from sophomore coaches...who are winning. It's going to take me awhile to get over that one.
Yesterday at school I really tried to get all students to work. I wasn't all that successful. So I've devised an assignment today that will hopefully produce better results. That assignment will be distributed out this morning at 8:00 a.m., and it's free read Wednesday. I'm hoping today goes quickly.
Tonight we head to Mercer County High School for another girls game night. At least it's another short drive.
