Monday, January 23

6:06 a.m. - Yesterday I didn't get a nap in, and I still woke up in the middle of the night last night and couldn't get back to sleep for awhile.  I guess I was thinking about too much yesterday.  I did end up getting to go visit with my mom and dad, so that was nice.  Apparently my mom is still working on finishing up the estate sale at her parents' home.

Today is back to work and officiating.  In school, we will prepare for tomorrow's first test grade, our first socratic seminar.  We are also going to have a journal write, and any extra time we'll devote to continuing the documentary we are watching.

Tonight we are at Kewanee....again.  I think this is our last trip to the Boilermakers for the season.  We have a lot of driving this week....hoping that Wednesday remains open.  We go to Prince of Peace in Clinton twice this week, and we've never been there.  It's always nice to go somewhere different.

Things to do for school

  • begin working on slave narrative presentation project
  • enter journal share extra credit
  • make lesson plans for 1-24-23 through 1-27-23
  • print out February cafeteria calendars
  • determine interest in SAT webinar - not interested
  • Friday, Feb. 3 - first check-in day for EN102
  • message to parents about Training Path Presenters line-up
  • work on research paper prompt
    • Write an argument in which you select an historical figure you have encountered so far in English III or U.S. History that would prove to be an effective leader for the United States in 2023. In your argument include research of relevant background information of your selected individual, as well as her/his effective leadership traits (and if you believe those traits would translate to today's modern challenges).
