Wednesday, January 25

5:29 a.m. - It's snowing, but it doesn't look like a snow day.  So it's a work day, but it's only a half day!  And it's free read Wednesday, but it's also a half day professional development day!  In short, there are so many good things to go with so many bad things.  So far, I don't have to officiate this evening...just never was assigned a game.

Last night we officiated at Prince of Peace, and it was an adventure.  We initially drove to the wrong place, but we were able to locate the gym and make it on the court in time.  The game was very lopsided, so we were done in less than an hour.  That's not something that happens very often.

Yesterday, went okay, but it was a bit of a scramble day.  We got through the socratic seminars...like usual the advanced sections had more maturity and those students faired better than the regular courses where students typically don't have the same level of maturity.  We also got through the speeches for the dual credit speech students.  I think I figured out the microphone problem with the camera, and I've made another purchase to try to fix that.

Things to do for school

  • get equipment out of video lab
  • delete files off of video camera after checking in with Cierra
  • read through FRW slips and update 5-star list
  • begin working on slave narrative presentation project
  • Friday, Feb. 3 - first check-in day for EN102
  • work on research paper prompt
    • Write an argument in which you select an historical figure you have encountered so far in English III or U.S. History that would prove to be an effective leader for the United States in 2023. In your argument include research of relevant background information of your selected individual, as well as her/his effective leadership traits (and if you believe those traits would translate to today's modern challenges).
