Friday, January 13 - Friday the 13th!

6:26 a.m. - Yesterday was another school day, and my writing prompt that I thought would generate a lot of discussion fell flat.  I thought for sure there would be passionate opinions regarding the new assault weapons ban in Illinois, but apparently students don't care or didn't want to share their thoughts.  Geez.  

Last night at Bureau Valley, things went fine.  Tonight we go to Wethersfield for a rivalry game between two neighboring schools.  It will be nice to officiate boys for a change.

Today is Friday the 13th, but it's also pay day...can't complain too much.

• Write an argument in which you select an historical figure you have encountered so far in English III or U.S. History that would prove to be an effective leader for the United States in 2023. In your argument include research of relevant background information of your selected individual, as well as her/his effective leadership traits (and if you believe those traits would translate to today's modern challenges).
