6:11 a.m. - Yesterday....school went well, but of course I've got the same students who puttered at the beginning of first semester also puttering at the beginning of the second semester. These are the same students that launch into panic mode and pleading mode because their grades are at or near failing. Ugh....learn! Understand that puttering around at the beginning of the semester only brings difficulty at the end of the semester.
Last night we had a basketball game at Alleman. UTHS was up on Alleman 28-3 at the end of the first quarter. I get a message from Jason, who got a message from someone else apparently complaining or criticizing something about the officiating in the game. Seriously? It's 28-3? There is absolutely nothing about the game that has anything to do with the officiating. Jason never did tell me what was said...probably a good thing. And to boot, the UT coach told Shawn that we were the best crew he's seen work all season, including the game he watched between Quincy at Moline. Geez. I do like going to work one Western Big Six game for $100 and getting home before 9 p.m. compared to working two Three Rivers games at Bureau Valley, making $130, and getting home at 10:30 or later.
Chase sent me a song that apparently he performed somewhere sometime. It was a sad song...not sure if it was intended to speak to me or he just wanted to share. It was a cover of a song from My Chemical Romance. Chase played it on his guitar, and it sounded very good. If it was meant for me, then I'd like to know, but he rarely gives me any direction. I'm usually supposed to understand, and I'm not very good at that. The lyrics may have represented him telling me to get out and stay out, or the lyrics may have meant my love for him has now changed. Or maybe he just wanted to share with me one of his performances. It's hard to tell...maybe he just wants to keep me thinking. One thing is for sure, he has musical talent...always has.
Today...free read Wednesday...I love these days. I'm not sure if I'll start a new book or continue reading the book I am currently really enjoying. I purchased another Dick Proenneke book, and it's even better than the last one I read. Unfortunately it brings me great job and also makes me really sad. Tonight...Lincoln Trail Girls Tournament at United. We have two games, and they shouldn't be very good games. We'll get paid a little more, but we'll also get home a little later.
