6:11 a.m - There were a couple of highlights yesterday to what otherwise was a pretty routine January day. At school I started reading a new book I really like from author Sherman Alexie. Also at school I was able to finalize the line-up for the training path presenter series. In the evening, I received a phone call from Carmen and we chit-chatted as she was driving home from her teaching job. It's always nice to get a phone call from the kids...just to hear how things are going in their lives. That phone call occurred after a second night of no officiating, which is the only occasion of two nights in a row of no officiating in the schedule. So what did I do? I came home and watched an episode of 1823 with Amber, and she made a nice supper. Then she went to bed, and I watched college basketball
Today, Mrs. Bohnsack and Mrs. Reed are visiting with students about scheduling their courses for next school year. I'll work to create lesson plans for next week, score some assignments, and take a break now and then by continuing to read that book. I also have to remember to get the garbage out this morning.
Things to do for school

- message to parents about Training Path Presenters line-up

- Write an argument in which you select an historical figure you have encountered so far in English III or U.S. History that would prove to be an effective leader for the United States in 2023. In your argument include research of relevant background information of your selected individual, as well as her/his effective leadership traits (and if you believe those traits would translate to today's modern challenges).
