7:45 a.m. - Yesterday was a long day. I worked two games at United with Shawn and Marcus, and then Marcus and I joined Tad at MonRose and worked a game there. My knee is pretty sore today, but we got some snow, so I'll get a chance to loosen up the knee with a little shovel action.
Amber is headed to a movie with a friend today, so I think I may hustle and get to church and then visit with mom and dad. Then I may just come back home and watch some football and read my book. I could use a quiet day today.
3:15 update - I deposited my officiating checks, attended church service, made a snowman with Brooklyn, Brinley, and Luke, and then completed some errands in Milan - picked up some things I need for school. Now I'm going to read my book and do my officiating laundry to get ready for another week.
Church service is tough for me. Have confidence, have faith, do more for others...that's always what the message boils down to. And yet I find myself just feeling awful...thinking about my ex-wife and children and how I have failed them and how they now are experiencing their own lives. I really find that keeping myself busy helps me not to be sad...church service just makes me sad. I don't think it's supposed to be that way.
Things to do for school
- determine interest in SAT webinar
- message to parents about Training Path Presenters line-up
- work on research paper prompt
- Write an argument in which you select an historical figure you have encountered so far in English III or U.S. History that would prove to be an effective leader for the United States in 2023. In your argument include research of relevant background information of your selected individual, as well as her/his effective leadership traits (and if you believe those traits would translate to today's modern challenges).
