6:02 a.m. - There will be no more scheduled regular season basketball games at Kewanee; I'm not saying something might get shuffled, or I might get assigned a post-season game there, but for now, the trips to Kewanee are over.  And I'm not saying that out of spite; last night went fine.  I just don't like to see a team too many times over the course of a season.  

There is some snow moving in.  The timing looks interesting.  I could go for a snow day tomorrow...no half day, no in-service.  That would be just fine.  

Today is our first socratic seminar at school...this should be an easy test grade for students.  Unfortunately, some will still not participate and take a "D" for a grade.  I can lead them to the water; I can't make them drink.  

Tonight we are off to Prince of Peace in Clinton.  We've never been there.  This could be an adventure.

• Friday, Feb. 3 - first check-in day for EN102
• work on research paper prompt
• Write an argument in which you select an historical figure you have encountered so far in English III or U.S. History that would prove to be an effective leader for the United States in 2023. In your argument include research of relevant background information of your selected individual, as well as her/his effective leadership traits (and if you believe those traits would translate to today's modern challenges).
