4:47 a.m. - Yesterday was a doozy. I did start the morning trying to jog a little, and that went okay, so that leg is getting stronger. At school I had a student council meeting, and then hustled to the district office for a lovely CPI training session. Then it was hustling back to IC Elementary for the first of two IEP meetings in the afternoon, surrounding a brief post-observation conference with a teacher. Then we had the Grin Prix show, which is a little skit put on by a couple of actors to help promote good teeth health. Nope, I wasn't done yet. Then I had to be a substitute bus driver for Mrs. Hall's route. I think I can safely say that there aren't many jobs in education that aren't quite as chaotic as being a sub bus driver. There are many students that really want to help, which sounds good, but isn't. And then, there help is usually late. Turn here is generally about five seconds behind where I should really turn or stop. In the end, I got all the students to their destinations and made it back to the bus barn with a little sanity left. Was that the end of my day - NOPE! Then it was grabbing a bite to eat and jumping on the lawn mower. With tonight's homecoming parade, I had to get to the yard. I did the riding mower; I did the pushing mowing,; I even rakes some grass out of the front yard. I think the yard is now ready for guests wanting to view the parade. Whew! That was a day!
And today...thankfully not as busy so far. It's still going to be a long day, though. I have an admin meeting this morning, and I have to help supervise at the parade this evening. And in between.....I'm sure something will find me. If not, I hope to catch up on some observation paperwork. Just keep swimming.
