6:13 a.m. - Today is a no-school day, and so is tomorrow - due to the heat. I'm not sure I agree with the decision, but I also know that it's not my decision, and it is very hot. For our building, the big issue is slippery floors because of the high humidity.
Yesterday was an okay day. It was still hot, but we got through it. I was able to get some things done, and then last night we had a volleyball match at Rock Island. Katy Hasson was also assigned on the freshmen match and was a line judge in the varsity match, so we met at the bank in Andalusia and rode together to Rock Island. It was nice having a partner to drive back and forth. And the match was fine. I had R1 for the sophomore match, and I took R2 for the varsity match. I still don't see the back row attacks and illegal hits like I should, but I feel like if I went to a clinic or did some more volleyball officiating that I would get it. On the other hand, I don't really want to go to a clinic or officiate club volleyball.
So what to do today? I'd like to get in some exercise. I probably will soak in the hot tub for a bit, and I could get some more chlorine from Sentry Pool while I have a chance. I think I may try to find a trail either at Black Hawk State Park or Loud Thunder. I may also try to figure out the wiper seal I need for the camper. I don't want to yet try to do that project in this heat. I may go visit mom and dad too.
