4:43 a.m. - Yesterday was sort of a weird day. I did get a couple of things done that needed finished. For one, I got rid of the exercise bicycle downstairs in the basement that wasn't functional. I did try to spend some time fixing it, but it just wasn't going to happen. So I took some tools downstairs and took it apart enough to throw it in the garbage. I also worked a little bit on the pool, and I visited mom and dad. I didn't get a chance to see mom, as she was at a church event. I did have a nice conversation with Dad, though.
And throughout the day, I watched several episodes of Ted Lasso, and I read my book a little. Plus, I did get in a stretch routine and took a walk, even though Sophie went home in the morning. I didn't get much down outside, but it rained off and on all day, so there wasn't much I could do outside anyway.
Today is a 1:30 dismissal day. In fact tomorrow is also an early dismissal, and my guess is that we will have early dismissals all week due to the heat. It's always best for students to stay in routine and be in attendance all day. On the other hand, lopping off two and a half hours of the day does make the day shorter. First, it's a holiday weekend, as it's Labor Day Weekend coming up. Second, I have my first volleyball match at 4 p.m. at Washington Junior High, so I don't have to worry about leaving school early. Finally, this is supposed to be my last year as a full-time educator, so I'll take all the shorter days I can get. Shorter days, volleyball officiating, leading to a three day weekend....bring it on!

- send any IEP notices to Mrs. Saey
