4:52 a.m. - Yesterday was another productive day, which ended up being a productive weekend around the house. I worked on the pool to start the day, and then I spent some time on weeds. I went through three rounds of spraying weeds, which was six gallons of Round-Up. The weeds in the ditch are going crazy, but that's a long way away from getting addressed as there is still standing water in the backyard from all the rain that we received earlier this month. After the weeds were accomplished, I even got in the pool with Sophie after she and I went for a walk. The rest of the day was quiet, simple, and relaxing. I watched Davenport Northwest win another game in the Little League World Series, and they are looking good. I'm not sure if they have a third pitcher, but the two pitchers they have used so far have looked very good. I even did a lot of reading yesterday, and I think I can finish up the book I recently started.
And today....it's Monday, and it's a full week of school again. I've found that Week 2 is generally the end of the honeymoon period to the school year. So while Week 1 seemed very calm and wonderful, the personalities and challenges should start to surface this week. And after school I have a softball game at Ridgewood. I do get to see Mr. Danner, so that's a good thing! I think this morning I may try to get out for a walk with Sophie...temps are in the 50's!
