6:25 a.m. - And sometimes "things" just work out. Last night we took the long drive to Cuba to officiate Illini Central against North Fulton. When we walked on the court at 6 p.m. expecting a fresh-soph game, there were varsity teams, and Illini Central only had five girls. Then we found out we were only going to have one game, yet we got paid for two. And North Fulton won in a lopsided game, and we were back in Knoxville having a sandwich well ahead of what we normally experience on that trip. It's true that some nights are very long, and then sometimes, the nights are short. Yesterday at school was pretty tame too, as students returned from the long weekend. Today should also proceed in a pretty tame fashion - a little FRW and discussion over some analysis questions. Tomorrow I'll start the documentary video, and we'll slide into the weekend. We just need to survive a little cold weather blast tomorrow, and Saturday after my games I'm headed to Dubuque to enjoy a little indoor waterpark action with all the grandchildren and their mommies and daddies. Today after school we have an important teachers' association meeting, and then Shawn and I are headed to Mercer County High School for a little freshmen game.
