6:06 a.m. - Yesterday's professional development I attended was surprisingly refreshing.  The two presenters provided a model for negotiating/problem solving that involved people working together to conduct dialogue and come up with solutions to differences.  The key component was that there was a facilitator/referee that assisted both sides of the differences.  Perhaps you could also call that person a negotiator - someone objective with no interest in the outcome, only interest in helping the two parties avoid negative results.  And of course these two presenters were available to be those individuals - at a cost.  I tried to ask the cost of such a person, but I wasn't given a whole lot of guidance.  I think I upset at least one of the gentleman when I asked.  

Of course the frustrating thing was that this "interest-based bargaining" information is only after we at Rockridge have started traditional based bargaining.  Still, it was nice to know that perhaps some groups some places can actually work together to resolve differences and really gain something positive out of the experience.

Last night's game featured Alleman at Rock Island...school districts in the same city and both girls teams about the same competitive level.  Yes, that means the game was a little "chippy", and the fans were not the most peaceful objective fans on the planet.  We got through it.  On to more action today and tomorrow.  Tonight and tomorrow I have six games total before I get to have a little rest on Sunday.  I'm guessing I'll be taking a couple extra Tylenol doses.

Today at school....after registering for courses yesterday, today students will have time to work on their research presentation projects.  If finished, I'm going to encourage students to

• create the English III next day's agenda and schedule post to stream
• score assignments and record into Lumen as needed - n/a
