6:26 a.m. - When a teacher is absent from school, there is more work involved than actually being in the classroom.  That situation is not the case today.  By shear dumb luck, today is the day I'm headed to a professional development academy in Atkinson on the same day that the guidance counselor is coming into my classrooms to help students register for courses for the next school year.  So not only am I gaining professional development and getting out of my classroom, there won't be any additional work for me to take care of when I return.  It's a win, win, win!

Last night the game at Clinton was as expected.  At one point in the game, the score was 40-8.  I wasn't working with my regular crew, but the guys I was working with I had worked with before.  In summary, there wasn't much fun, but there wasn't much bad either.

Tonight will be a different story - Rock Island girls at Alleman.  This will be a rivalry; it will be a game both teams believe they can win; and there will likely be a good crowd in the gym.  A bonus is that I am working with Tad Johnson, my former crewmate.  I haven't seen him in awhile, so it will be good to catch up with him.
