5:47 a.m. - Yesterday I contacted a couple of my friends that assign basketball games, and they removed me from several dates over the next couple of weeks. It's nice of them, and the time off will give my leg some time off to try to recover, but it makes me feel like a failure. Plus, I'm losing out on over $1,000, which I could really use as I'm saving up to get the pool liner replaced. It all just sucks, but it's the smart thing to do...I try to remember that, but it's still hard.
Yesterday at school wasn't easy either. For the first time in a long time I questioned whether or not I made the right decision to take the principal job at ICE. I didn't realize all the different components that make up the K,1,2 level that I'm just completely unfamiliar with. I continue to wonder how the district ever thought one person could be the principal at both ICE and TRE. To do my job as I'm supposed to do it at ICE, I could use an assistant principal.
Hopefully, I can get through today and get some things done at ICE and then survive one basketball game at United tonight before getting another night off tomorrow night.
