5:01 a.m. - Yesterday was another long day.  We got through it - got through the school day, got through the volleyball officiating at Geneseo.  Yesterday there was a school shooting in Oregon yesterday at an elementary.  Ugh...and now all the media coverage that is the same media coverage as all the other ones.  And no additional items will occur.  In fact, in this case, a community member chased the shooter in and shot him.  There will likely be more calls for more guns so community members can  more readily respond.

Today the weather has turned colder and is windy.  And of course Fire Safety Day is today.  We have a fire drill to start the day, and then from 9-11 the fire safety event.  Then it's back to school for lunch and recess.  I don't know what is happening tonight, but I hope it's quiet and simple.  The Southwells are getting packed up to head back to Florida this morning, so I'll see them for just a bit early this morning.  Just keep swimming.
