Saturday, February 8

7:27 a.m. - Survive and advance...that's been the motto.  I'm not taking a few days off to try to heal.  I'm going to stay active, and I'm going to start the exercises that I'm supposed to do for my knee replacement surgery.

Yesterday was wacky...went and got my phone from Sherrard High School that I had left the night before.  Then I had to go into Moline to the Vibrant Arena and get the hockey tickets vouchers from the field trip the second graders missed.  Then I had a meeting with a parent.  Then we went and officiated at Orion.  Survive and advance.

Today, apparently we are going to watch the Harrison girls play basketball.  Then I hope to stay home and work on my legs.  My next scheduled game isn't until February 14...that's nice.

8:28 a.m. - It's a weird day already.  I had to leave early to get to Sherrard High School to get my phone I had left last night.  Then today I'm needing to get some things done, but one of our students is having a tough start.  I'd just like to get through the day and get through officiating tonight.

Thursday, February 6

6:21 a.m. - And it's an ICE day...no school.  I had a busy day scheduled today, and it just got less busy.  I was supposed to go to the QC Storm game field trip with the 2nd grade students.  Then I was supposed to have an admin meeting in the afternoon.  I'm supposed to officiate some basketball this evening.  Now I know there will be some disappointed 2nd grade students; I'm almost giddy that there is no admin meeting; and I will find out later today if I'm officiating.  

In the meantime, after the ice melts, I may try to get a little comfortable ski-walk in, and maybe I'll take Amber to the casino have have a lunch there.  Needless to say, while I'm disappointed for the ICE second graders, I'm not at all disappointed to have an ICE day.  It would be even better if I didn't have to officiate tonight.
