Thursday, November 27 - Happy Thanksgiving

1:33 a.m. - Well, I don't normally submit an entry at 1:33 a.m., but I can't sleep.  So rather than tossing and turning and getting frustrated, I just decided to get up and have a ham and cheese sandwich and see if that might help me nod off.  So while I'm up, I might just as well get something done.

Yesterday was a nice day.  It started earlier than I expected as Marcus wanted to go to Aledo early before picking up Tony.  So we were early to Aledo, and then we were early to our game.  The game went fine; it was pretty lopsided.  Then we stayed and watched Rockridge play.  The Rockets lost to Annawan, and there are some pieces to a competitive team, but there's a lot of work and improvement to be done too.  Rockridge has experienced great teams for the past several years, but this team doesn't have the same level of athleticism nor experience.

Today will be interesting.  I need to make some potatoes, which I might actually start on after I'm finished with this work.  We are headed to Kourtney's house for Thanksgiving dinner, and it will be nice to see all of Amber's side of the family.  I'm not sure what happens after that.  My mom cancelled her Thanksgiving because she's still not feeling very well.  I tried to send her a text message, but she didn't respond.  That's worrisome.  I may need to go over this morning and check on her and dad.

After Kourtney's, I guess we are coming back home.  Carmen may be joining us?  I received a Facebook message late tonight asking if they could stay Thursday night and Friday night and then return home on Saturday.  It would be great to have them, but we currently don't have an extra bed downstairs.  We still have plenty of space for them, but we just might have to get creative.  Plus, I don't know if they want to stay Friday night, since the weekend winter storm that is forecast for the weekend is supposed to start Friday night.  So I guess we'll just figure something out.  I think Amber said Kollyns was spending the night on Friday night, so maybe Caleb and Kollyns will be able to see each other.
