Friday, November 28

6:10 a.m. - Yesterday was an adventure for a Thanksgiving day.  The big meal event was at Kourtney's, and it was great to see ALL of Amber's family there.  Patrick smoked some turkey, and it was delicious.  A big surprise was a picture that we received from the girls - all the girls - Kourtney, Kenzie, Karrigan, and Carmen.  Sometime in October, they were able to get all the grandchildren together and get a Christmas picture.

Prior to Kourtney's house, I needed to get to my parents' house.  I have never been asked to complete my mom's morning chores with her animals.  She's pretty sick, and I'm pretty convinced that it's covid.  After the Thanksgiving meal, Amber and I went to Bally's - lost our asses.

Then it was back home (and getting Amber's van some gas and air in the back tires) and off to the farm again to do evening chores.  I watched some football and basketball, and we moved the futon mattress downstairs in the spare bedroom to get ready for the Hoenigs' arrival.  They got here around 7 p.m., and we chatted and Caleb played.  Eventually, we had a late night bite to eat from leftovers, and then we all went to bed.  I didn't here any big noises coming from downstairs, so I hope it went okay.

The news today is SNOW!  A big storm is moving in and forecast to start tonight.  The latest total predictions are 8-16 inches of snow....YIKES.  Today I'm going to go to the farm again and check on the animals, and then I'm headed into Moline to do some mattress shopping.  I'm hoping to bring something home with me.  After some Black Friday shopping for a mattress, then, I'm hoping to take the Hoenigs and maybe Cole to the Festival of Trees.  Then we will head back home and wait for the snow!  I think it will be time for Hallmark Channel!
