6:06 a.m. - Yesterday was a very humbling experience.  I'm convinced that I am an ineffective second grade teacher.  It was awful. I'm sure if I had to do it over a period of time I would improve, but after being a PE teacher on Thursday, being a second grade teacher yesterday for Mrs. Sours' class was something that about did me in.  Many times I have expressed my appreciation for staff and all they do every day...and many times I have attempted to tell them that I'm constantly amazed and impressed with the patience and effort and care that they demonstrate every day.  And now I have an ever deeper amazement and appreciation.

Today, I'd like to just recover.  I'd like my life to be quiet and simple and get some things done.  I'd like to also have some time to sit and be lazy and watch football.  Last night I fell asleep in my chair before 8 p.m., and I got up to go to the bathroom and just went back to the couch with the TV on.  Amber woke up around 5 a.m., and I was still exhausted and could have gone back to sleep again.

It appears that we will be getting our first appearance of snow flakes today, so I need to get out to the camper and take out the battery to get it inspected and possibly replaced.  I want to do that first to see if that might be some of the problems with the power and the thermostat that surfaced when we were camping at West Lake last weekend.  I think then I'll wait until next weekend to put the cover on the camper.
