5:05 a.m. - Yesterday was productive Monday. It started with a bit of a snag, but sometimes a person just has to struggle through the day, right? The HHR decided it needed a new battery. I had suspected something like that was coming, as in recent days the start sequence was a little delayed. Now I'm just hoping it was the battery. The rep at Autozone said it was, and I don't think I've ever changed out the battery, so that was my guess too. That was nothing $240 couldn't conquer! Sheesh. I'm just glad they had one. This particular batter is a little weird, and it's located in the back of the car alongside the spare tire under the hatchback. And yes, I saved myself a little bit of money by doing the little project myself. Hopefully today, the HHR is ready to go!
Another matter yesterday that involved money was a bit frustrating. I called back Genesis One about my surgery bill from my knee surgery back on April 16. I had called last week and talk to someone who seemed confused and then transferred me to someone else who never called me back. So I was set for another conversation battle today, but when I reached a rep, I was told that a refund check had been sent on July 31. I'm pleased but also angry. I'm wondering had I not been persistent and attentive whether or not the refund would have been sent. Plus, I'm angered that I was asked to pay an "estimate" bill back on the surgery day when the estimate was over shot by over $1,000! Now I can send those other EOB's into our third party insurance thing that should also get me some money back....I think...probably in a few months.
Yesterday, I also got in a resistance workout, and completed some landscaping at ICE. I did some work around the area around the flag pole - trimmed the bush, and I spread some mulch. Also the big shipment of playground mulch arrived, so I'm assuming that will get spread sometime soon. Also yesterday, I was able to take some items off the to-do list.
Today is new teacher mentoring day. I'm not really doing much, but I think I have to meet the new teachers at lunch. I'm pretty sure Mrs. Zampogna is back in the office today, so that means I will have more things to do as she completes her work. I also want to get in a cardio workout this morning, so I'm going to head back to the YMCA and do that.
I also need to get into town and pick up my prescription at Walgreens and my pants at Monster Sewing.
