4:44 a.m. - The rains broke enough to allow me to get out in the yard and do the push mowing. I also made a visit to mom and dad. I also passed my IHSA volleyball test, although I'll have to take it again and get a better score if I want to pass promotion. I also watched some of the Bears game, cooked up some bacon and porkchops on the Blackstone, and fixed myself my first bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich of the season! There just isn't a taste like a BLT with an in-season tomato. I tried to watch the Cubs vs. Cardinals, but I fell asleep before the end - Cubs lost.
Today is a back-to-school week Monday, but this is the final day before teachers arrive tomorrow. I've got a BOE meeting tonight, and I'm sure there will be things I need to do today, but nothing yet scheduled. I don't have to find substitutes this morning, and I'm not looking forward to a return to that stuff. Temperatures look hot for the week, so I wonder if we will have early release days to start the school year.
