6:11 a.m. - Yesterday morning featured a trip to Galesburg for a volleyball officiating clinic, but we were early, so Mr. Strachan navigated us to a little neighborhood cafe for a good breakfast. It was a good thing because I nearly lost my mind in the clinic. The volleyball clinics have always been my most frustrating. There are too many officials that only work volleyball, so this is the one time of the year they get to shine. And sheesh to the shine - talk, talk, talk - ask a million questions - tell stories. UGH. There is no way on the planet that the clinic should take four hours - especially since there was not a visual presentation due to equipment issue nor any court time due to dead week.
So I got home after noon, and then proceeded to attack the yard. Neighbor Brandon had spent some time wacking weeds and mowing his yard, so that was enough motivation for me to get on some jeans and a long sleeve shirt and work through the heat to get that done. After that I got in the air conditioning and chilled out for the night, watching some television and then a movie.
And boy oh boy was it a good thing to get most of the yard work and ditch weeds taken care of. Overnight we had rain - a lot of rain. And this was a summer of rain yet last night was the most rain we have had yet in a single day/night period. There is a large "ocean" in our back yard low area - Mr. Bush likes to tell me that is my oceanfront property.
So on to today. Amber wants to go to church...hmmm. I would like to finish up the yard mowing. I'd also like to go see Caleb if he's available. Other than that, I'll let the day find me.
