4:52 a.m. - Yesterday was a back-to-school (again) day. It was hard on students, especially the kindergarten students, to have another start-up day after the long weekend due to Monday's and Tuesday's cancellations due to heat.
And yesterday, like every day at ICE, was an adventure with things that happened that were unexpected. We ended up with an ICE student at TRE, so I went and got the student using Amber's bus. DCFS appeared and needed to speak to student. And one of our recess sessions was interrupted with a rain shower delay. We ended up going in the building for just a couple of minutes before the shower stopped out, and we went right back outside. And last night, unfortunately, Chase didn't return with my car after I let him borrow it to get around yesterday. I received a text message from him acknowledging that I would appreciate him returning by 9 p.m., so I could get a good night's rest. He didn't return, so needless to say, I didn't get a good night's sleep. Now this is another item I need to address today...just part of the job.
And amidst all of that personal stuff, there is an admin meeting today....ugh. It's going to be A DAY today. Just keep swimming.
