4:32 a.m. - We woke up to hearing the siren going off in the village this morning. There was weather coming in, but really only a thunderstorm. Maybe it was worse other places. I'm up now, though, so it looks like it's just raining, but there does appear to be some power outages according to KWQC news reports. I have been getting up early recently to try to get some workouts in, but this is a little earlier than most days.
Yesterday was a good day. I got in a good resistance workout, and a few things got done at ICE that were on my list. After getting home, Amber and I went to the Long branch and had some supper and tried out their slots. Then I came home and watch some movies - good ones again featuring good old fashioned "shoot em up" good guys versus bad guys.
Today is a bit of a weird day with a couple of appointments I have to get to. I have what I hope is my last knee surgery follow-up appointment. I also have to attend a bus refresher course. I need to mow grass for the millionth time this summer, but that probably won't happen today.
The weather finally is being forecast to change from all this heat and humidity. With that change, it's time to get out to the campground! After getting some new tires on Thursday morning, I'm just going to take the camper out to Loud Thunder. I had thought about West Lake, but the Mississippi Valley Fair is going on this week, so West Lake might be a bit busy. I just reserved a little different spot than we have experienced at the campground, so that will be a bit different. It will be nice to get the camper out.
In other news, Cubs legend Ryne Sandberg died. He had been battling prostrate cancer. Apparently he had beaten it once, but it came back. This latest announcement wasn't that long ago, and his public statements had been pretty sad - announcements that indicated that he didn't think he had much time. He was 65 years old...total bullshit. Ugh. RIP Mr. Sandberg.

- Just a quick reminder that we have a Refresher Bus Class on July 29th from 5-7 PM. The location has been changed to East Moline District #37 office on Morton Drive in East Moline. If you still have drivers that need to get into this class please be sure to email me their names and DL# so we can get them registered. For those of you that have drivers registered please be sure to let them know of the location change and to be sure to bring an electronic device that can log onto the internet (phone, tablet).
