6:35 a.m. - Yesterday was another good one. I skipped an "official" work out; instead I chose some exercise by finishing off the weed wacking project by tackling the west ditch. It was a big job, and getting out early helped because even then it was hot. I'm feeling the effects of it today, though, as the muscles are hurting and I've got some sinus congestion from all the weeds debris I was breathing in. Just looking out over the yard and seeing the ditches wacked down makes me very happy. And the job is done just in time as the forecast is calling for rain today. The next "project" was to help feed all of our party guests. I had the grill going for hot dogs and hamburgers, plus Adam brought some pepper poppers and shrimp, and Amber wanted some chicken patties. I didn't hear any complaints, so I must have done a good job. It was also great that Dad came. He spent some time having lunch, and then he watched some television by trying out the power recliner. He liked it, so we are going to keep an eye out for one for mom and dad. I'm worried about his health....he doesn't look good; doesn't move good, and he reported that his feet are swollen.
After lunch of wonderful food including baked beans, potato salad, Spanish rice, and other stuff, we spend time in the pool. The hot day made for a good pool day. Lots of kids, grandkids, friends, and family. After the party, Amber and I cleaned up and picked up and headed to the casino. While driving back home, I commented that if felt like a Sunday. And now it's still Saturday!
So what's going on today? I really don't know. It's going to rain, so spraying weeds is out. I would like to get in a resistance workout (weights) today, and that can be at the Aledo YMCA, up at the school, or even at home.
I guess we'll see how the day goes.
