5:46 a.m. - Yesterday was another good day of the July 4th weekend. Amber joined me in getting in a workout at the YMCA. Then we had a quiet day at home to chill out. Jack and Rhonda did come over and get into the pool, but I did some reading and took a nice afternoon nap. There was a prize drawing event at Bally's, so we went to the casino and had supper at the buffet. No we didn't win any prizes, but Jack did! They won a new hot tub! While at the casino, I got a text from Cole, and he wanted to spend the night because he was umpiring in Muscatine. So the day didn't end when we got home from the casino....Cole and I watch a couple of movies. Of course, I had to deal with Cole's criticisms of movies as is normally the case, but it was still great to spend some time with him. Also yesterday it rained, and then apparently last night it rained again. There's standing water in the backyard, so once again, I'm glad I mowed the backyard and extra time and got those dang ditches wacked. Also yesterday while I was napping, Sophie got picked up in Orion, so we had two overnight guests last night - Cole and Sophie! This morning, then, I had a cat and a dog to tend to before getting my coffee and sitting down to get my thoughts in this entry.
Today the only scheduled item on my agenda is a 5 p.m. date with my mom to go to Monmouth and attend Caleb's birthday party. Amber is working at Shiver's and my dad isn't going, so mom and I will attend. Cole is scheduled to umpire again, but with the rain, I'm not sure he will have games on time. Also, I think Sophie is scheduled to get her nails trimmed, but I don't know when that is happening. I'd like to get a cardio workout in, but I don't know what that is going to look like. Yesterday's workout was good for me...I can feel it today...
