6:45 a.m.- Yesterday was a good one again. I got in a cardio workout in the morning, including my first effort in the pool at the Aledo YMCA. Then I exchanged the two little propane tanks I needed to complete, so that got done. Then it was off to ICE to make sure things were going well there, and then it was off to the alternate office once again. I did get the old board room put back together a bit, and I did a little work with the old board meeting minutes binders. Amber needed some help with her room, so we spent a little time on that, and then after work we headed south. First, we took some packages to Kenzie at her house, and then we went to the Farmer's Market in Aledo. We purchased some veggies and bread, and then we visited the new Smith's meat market. After that we had a little time, so we went to Ferg's and played some slots, and then it was off to the Mercer County Fair. It looked like we were going to get wet, but the rain stayed north of us, so we watched the racing and events without rain. Darrin Harrison was in the truck and trailer race which was a complete mess. There were too many entrants, and it was chaos. Darrin finished in sixth I think. Nothing says crazy redneck county fair like truck-trailer races. After I got home, I watched the news and there was heavy rain in the area as well as some tornadoes.
And today...more heavy rain and more storms. And it's pretty much going to occur all day and evening according to the forecasts. I'm glad I got the yard mowed, but I don't know if I'm going to get it mowed again like I had planned...well have to see if tomorrow brings some dry weather.
Yesterday was day three of my new efforts for eating. I planned for the fair food - a corn dog and some fried catfish fillets. Okay, I really only planned for the corn dog, but that fish looked good. After getting home, I had a cucumber, protein shake, cottage cheese, and some beef jerky, and that food helped me to get to the percentages I wanted to get to - proteins 42%, carbs 28%, and fats 30%. I think I'm figuring out to just have the "extras" handy that are high protein items to add to whatever it is that would be the main course. I think I have to get in my brain to not deprive myself of any type of food intentionally; instead, I just have to plan for it and off set the nutrition with other type of high protein foods - those already mentioned, plus yogurt, and other examples I'm exploring. Last Monday (after a food feast of July 4th Holiday Weekend) I weighed 255 lbs. Today, I weigh 246. That result also included resistance training every other day and cardio training every other day. I don't think it's a surprise that those items in my weekly life would lead to weight loss I need to have occur; what I need to figure out is how I can try to accomplish that when the school year returns in mid-August.
