1-11-21 1st period

Students may expect me to bash the events of last Wednesday at the Capitol, but I'm here to suggest that the events that occurred really showed what United States citizens can be at their worst and their best.  I didn't watch President Trump's speech at the rally, nor did I watch any other speakers at the rally, and I believe there were at least a few others.  I did watch the event that unfolded at Capitol when many of the participants in the rally breached the Capitol security.  I also watched the evening debate of the Senate on C-Span in most of it's 2-hour coverage. What ended up having the most impact on me is that the process of a vote by voters back in November, the completion of the counting of the Electoral College, the certification of that process by the Congress and Vice-President.  It all ended up happening in the end.  The democratic process of the Constitution may have been delayed, but it was carried out just like the founding fathers had created and drafted at the beginning of our country.  I found that impressive.
