5:42 a.m. - Last night the boys basketball team won its Supersectional game and advanced to the state finals later this week.  They play on Thursday afternoon, so now I need to figure out what to do.  I'd like to go, but Champaign is a long drive.  Plus, I have guest speakers coming in on both Thursday and Friday.  I guess I'll find out today whether the school district is still planning on holding classes, and then I'll go from there with how to proceed.  Yesterday's first guest speaker went well.  James Puckett did a good job presenting the information about the school-to-work path and his company.

Monday, March 7

6:30 a.m. - A week from today I'm scheduled for my softball date.  Today, there's three inches of snow on the ground from an overnight snowstorm.  On Saturday night, there were severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings...Midwest weather at it's finest.  I'm not sure about those softball games next week.  Some schools had delayed starts and some schools even canceled today.  I'm honestly surprised we didn't delay.

I'm also not sure about the RTA meeting with the BOE tonight.  I haven't heard anything official, but tonight is the boys basketball Supersectional, and I can't imagine that we will have the meeting with that event.  

Today I started my day by shoveling the driveway...got my exercise in that fashion.  Today also starts the training path presenter series...it's a long day for me even though I'm not front and center.  I worry about the students giving enough respect to the guest visitor, so I'm on "hawk vision" trying to make sure they aren't disrespectful.  

Last night the Illinois basketball team won the game and won a share of the Big Ten Conference Championship.  They were lucky.  They were lucky they won, and they were lucky that Wisconsin lost earlier in the day.  I watched a bunch of basketball yesterday after little Rosie's baptism.  I did get some exercise in as well.

Sunday, March 6

7:19 a.m. - Some pretty good storms rolled through last night around 9 p.m.  There were a couple of tornado warnings - one just to the north and one just to the south.  I don't think there was any damage, but there was a big tornado near the Des Moines area that killed six people.  

My day yesterday was pretty uneventful.  I finished a couple of little to-do projects around the house, and I loaded all my softball umpiring gear into the HHR.  I picked up a couple of things at Dollar General and visited with my mom.  I then came home and watched the IHSA girls state tournament.  I was motivated in a couple of directions - 1) I can do that event; 2) I don't want to look as big and slow as some of the officials did.  I need to cut some weight and gain some strength...which pretty much go hand-in-hand.

The Harrison kids did arrive in the afternoon, so I played with Brooklyn, Brinley, and Luke.  Last night we then watched the storms and went to bed.

Today we have Rosie's baptism at RUMC.  Then my schedule is pretty clear, but I would like to try to visit with Chase somehow.
